The image analysis software developed is tentatively named "MEDIMA".MEDIMA is a sophisticated image analysis software system for medicalprofessionals. MEDIMA can be used to interactively construct and displaycomplex 3-D and 2-D images from CT and MRI data; to manipulate the imagesfor image enhancement and rotate the images for better view angles; tomeasure both distances and angles of the 2-D and 3-D image structures;and to perform quantitative analysis of the images. The image analysissoftware system provides a powerful tool for various medicalprofessionals (radiologists, dentists, surgeons, and physicians) for fastand accurate diagnosis. One of the unique features of MEDIMA is thatboth the operating commands and text information can be displayed inChinese. The complex-2-D and 3-D image displaying capability andcomputational intensive nature of the software system requires a fastcomputing speed and better graphic displaying capability of aworkstation.
